Frequently asked
How does the free trial work?
5 free DXF/PDF outputs with no time limit; nesting itself is never limited. Each DXF save (all sheets of one run) or PDF report uses one. When they are used up, nesting and the cost figures keep working and output needs a licence.
I cut on a router, not a laser. Does that change anything?
It changes the arithmetic. A laser removes almost nothing, so a single kerf number describes the loss. A router removes a channel as wide as the cutter, so parts need real distance, and not the same distance in both directions. That is why X and Y gaps are separate.
What exactly does "utilisation" mean here?
Total part area divided by the area of the sheets actually used. Holes in the parts are not counted as used material.
Which SOLIDWORKS versions are supported?
SOLIDWORKS 2019 through 2026, 64-bit, on Windows 10 or 11. See system requirements.
Does it send my model anywhere?
No. Nesting runs entirely on your machine: no server, no cloud account and no internet connection is needed to produce a nest, a DXF or a report. See privacy.
I got a new computer. Do I have to buy again?
No. Open Licence on the ribbon, release this machine, then activate on the new one with the same key.
My CAD workstation has no internet at all. Can I still activate?
Yes — offline activation.
Will it beat my foreman's layout?
On the job we measured, 38 parts in 2 mm DKP, it does not beat him. It matches him: 1 sheet. What you gain is 4 milliseconds instead of the better part of an hour, the same layout every time, and the cost attached.
Does it do common-line cutting?
Not today; it is on the limits page.
Does it produce G-code?
No. It stops at a layered DXF. Post-processing belongs to your CAM or your machine's own software.
Refunds?
14-day money-back guarantee, no questions asked. E-mail support@nestingexpert.com.
Still stuck?
